Restaurant Style Spicy Tandoori Chicken Recipe
If you ever eat tandoori chicken in a restaurant and thought “I cannot make this at home,” you are wrong. You don’t need tandoor also, normal oven or even stove top pan works.
Ingredients you need:
- 500g chicken leg pieces (with skin off)
- ½ cup curd (thick dahi works better)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 2 tbsp tandoori masala (from store is ok)
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- Salt as per taste
- 2 tbsp oil
Steps to make:
- First wash chicken well and make few deep cuts with knife. Cuts are important otherwise masala will not go inside.
- In a bowl mix curd, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, tandoori masala, chili powder and salt. It will look like reddish paste.
- Put chicken inside this paste and mix with hand. Best is to use hand not spoon, because masala will go inside properly.
- Keep in fridge minimum 4 hour. Overnight will give more flavor.
- Preheat oven at 200°C. Put chicken on grill tray or on wire stand. If no oven, just use nonstick pan with little oil.
- Cook for 20–25 min turning once in middle. Chicken should look little charred (black spot).
- Serve hot with green chutney, onion rings and lemon slice.
