Eid Special Fish Tikka Masala Recipe

Smoky & Creamy Restaurant Style Fish Tikka Masala

Eid is all about rich flavors, special dishes and enjoying food with family. While mutton and chicken are common, fish can also be turned into something truly amazing if cooked properly. One such dish is Fish Tikka Masala, a recipe that brings together smoky grilled fish and creamy spicy gravy.

This dish feels like restaurant style but you can easily make it at home. The combination of soft fish pieces and thick masala gravy makes it perfect for Eid lunch or dinner. It is little different from regular fish curry, and that’s what makes it special.

Before starting, always remember one important thing – fresh fish makes all the difference. If fish is not fresh, the taste will not come properly. If you want best quality, you can always Buy Fresh Fish.

Now let’s start with the preparation.

First take around 500 to 700 grams of boneless fish pieces. You can use basa, surmai or any firm fish. Wash it gently and keep aside. Fish is delicate so don’t over wash or press it too much.

Now prepare the first marinade. In a bowl, take ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, salt and lemon juice. Mix it well and apply it on the fish pieces. Keep it for 15-20 minutes. This step helps in removing raw smell and gives basic flavor.

After that, prepare second marinade. Take thick curd, garam masala, coriander powder, little kasuri methi, and some oil. Mix everything nicely and coat the fish pieces again. Now keep it aside for at least 30 minutes. Longer marination gives better taste, so if you have time keep it for 1 hour.

Now it’s time to cook the fish. You can grill it, shallow fry it or even cook in oven. Heat a pan and add little oil, then place the fish pieces carefully. Cook them on medium flame until they are slightly golden from both sides. Don’t overcook otherwise fish will become dry.

Once the fish is ready, keep it aside and start preparing the gravy.

In a pan, heat some butter and oil. Add finely chopped onions and cook until they turn soft and slightly golden. Then add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute. After that, add tomato puree and cook it properly until the oil starts separating.

Now add spices like red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder and salt. Mix everything well and cook the masala on low flame. This step is very important because raw masala taste should not remain.

Once the masala is cooked, add some fresh cream and mix well. This gives a smooth and rich texture to the gravy. Also add little water to adjust consistency.

Now gently add the cooked fish pieces into the gravy. Mix carefully so that fish doesn’t break. Let it cook for few minutes so that fish absorbs all the flavors.

At the end, add garam masala and kasuri methi. You can also add a small piece of charcoal smoke for that restaurant style flavor, but it’s optional.

When the gravy becomes thick and creamy, your Fish Tikka Masala is ready. Garnish it with coriander leaves and a little cream on top.

This dish tastes amazing with naan, roti or even jeera rice. The smoky flavor of fish combined with creamy gravy makes it a perfect Eid special recipe.

The best part about this recipe is that it is different from regular fish dishes already available. It gives you restaurant style feeling at home and can impress your guests easily.

Also one important tip – don’t overcook the fish. Fish cooks very fast and if you cook too much, it becomes dry and hard. Keep flame medium and handle gently.

Eid is all about trying something new and enjoying good food. When you serve something like Fish Tikka Masala, it adds variety to your table and makes your meal more exciting.

Sometimes cooking fish can be tricky and things may not go perfect, but thats completely okay. With little practice, you will master it easily.

So this Eid, try this special recipe and make your celebration even more delicious.

Enjoy your Eid with great food and happy moments.
